Anyone that played NBA 2K21 remembers a song titled Alarm under the artist Elo Sinatra. It's unclear whether his official artist name is Elo/Elo Sinatra, so I'll refer to him as Elo in this article just because it's shorter. The first time I heard the song on the soundtrack, not knowing anything about it, it was hard to label as any particular artist; it had a unique sound to it and didn't really sound like anyone else. This song was so intriguing, I had to do more research on Elo, who there almost weren't any pictures of on the internet. Though much of it is deleted now, I came across an elite but short catalog.
Being that it was on a very widely played video game soundtrack, one would think that Alarm would have been enough to get Elo signed, or at least signifigant recognition. It has built up signifigant recognition on YouTube, as across all of its posted versions has close to 1 million views. Alarm was his debut single, released in 2019. Not much has been released since then, as the artist's Apple Music profile only has 3 singles and 2 features on it, though it did have an EP up until around a year ago. The EP, which is still available on SoundCloud, is titled No Wait and contains some very catchy hooks on songs such as Poppin and Go Get It. His overall artist style combines well above average lyricism with catchy hooks and heartfelt verses, as he often speaks about his lifes pain and interesting path. One common theme in his music is the feeling of regret about some of his earlier life decisions, but with a clear mentality that things can play out decently in his life. He often speaks about earlier hardships, with lines like, "I done lived a life you wouldn't believe, swear I've lived more than one", as well as another common theme of maturity, as he has no interest in spending money on things that won't serve him well in the long run. There's another serious standout on his SoundCloud titled On My Time, which has a music video with under 1000 views. The raw skill that's been shown on the small sample of work that he has out says to me that he may be a natural born talent who doesn't take things that seriously. That's not to say that he hasn't made solid efforts, as I wouldn't know. I may be very wrong.
It's unclear if Elo is still making music, as he's been solidly inactive on all platforms. Due to this, it may not make sense to look towards the future with more potential music from him, but it's still a mystery whether that bigger career kickstart will take place. I think he's a great example of an artist that just may not be interested enough in that career path to really make the strongest effort to put himself out there.
