Homixide Gang is one of the most elaborate, fiery young groups out right now. Made up of Atlanta natives Homixide Meechie and Homixide Beno! (who are 23 and 24 years old respectively), they found almost immediate success in the rage game with their debut studio album Snotty World in 2021. They add a unique style to the rage game, as they don't really participate in the attempted edgy/feminine aesthetic that is pretty common in that scene. Their sophomore album Homixide Lifestyle is full of songs that will turn up any moshpit, to say the least. There's some songs on this album that are probably more rock than rap, and they do it right. They backed up this album's emphatic cover, which is something that I would call iconic if it wasn't for Beno!'s ridiculous allegations, as upon first hearing this album, someone would probably think that these two would be ten times bigger than they are. With 18 songs on this album, there's 10 that are top of the genre. I don't think they try as hard anymore as they did on this. Today, we'll be counting down the top five songs on the project.
5. Stunt ft. Ken Carson
With arguably the most iconic beat drop of this decade so far, this one can't go (those who know the album will understand that pun) un-noticed. I can only hope to experience this one in the pit one day, as I know I would take home the crown without question.
4. TF! ft. Destroy Lonely and Biggaveli
This is great music. The delivery of some of the lines on this one that can make you feel real good about life, such as, "Stackin' this chicken and rockin' these shows, you know we ain't worried bout sh*t!". This song just feels like a party, and Biggaveli is like the Dad that comes to clean up the aftermath of the party when it's over.
3. Guitars
One of the best beats in history. They cruised on it, as I feel that hearing this one as the second song on the album gets you set for the fact that these guys are pretty talented.
2. Notice it!
I said the Stunt drop was amazing, but this is music if it was ever made. This is easily their best hook, and the beat, made by none other than Artist or Lil Slatt (who has such a good producer tag that people feel the need to keep it on the song because it makes songs 10x better), makes you feel like you're about to go to war.
1. 5 Ways
Artist made this beat as well, and I don't even have words to describe it, you'd just have to hear it yourself. This makes you feel more than 5 ways. This is moshpit sound to perfection.
These two have proven that they have the talent, to say the least. They've dropped recently, and I'd be lying if I said I gave it a listen. That's on me and I will at some point, but these two perfect rage. There's unlimited potential. They make good music, but I can't condone Beno!'s alleged actions, and it makes them harder to enjoy. I don't know what the odds of those being false are (probably low), so he has some big changes to make, as I don't respect his character at all. It is true that he didn't necessarily harm anyone, and here we're looking at things through a musical presepctive, but I did want to make that clear.
